Nicole
Armitage developed her artistic talents at a very young
age under the influence of her father, well-renowned artist, Frank
Armitage. After staffing multiple art and literary magazines through
out her high school years and winning multiple awards, she continued
her studies with a full scholarship at California Institute of the
Arts, Valencia, CA. From Cal-Arts, Ms Armitage refined her illustration
skills at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. During her
4th year at Art Center, she was offered a full-time job at Walt
Disney Imagineering designing attraction posters, murals and color
concepts for their many theme parks and promotions. In 1995, Armitage
collaborated with her father, Frank, to design and execute over 5100
square feet of large scale murals for Disney's Animal
Kingdom in Florida. Along with these murals, other designs
and concepts were created for the up coming Tokyo Disney Seas theme
park. |

Ms. Armitage continued to pursue her art through independent companies
such as B.R.C. Imagination Arts, Universal Studios Hollywood and
Cinnnabar which allowed her to broaden her talents, client contacts
and focus on precision. She continued to commission private homes
for unique finishes and mural work. Her wall treatments can be
found in the homes of many famous talents in Hollywood, including
Chris Noth (Sex In The City) and Howard Rose (the manager of Elton
John). Her talents in finish work eventually spread into the entertainment
industry, earning her the opportunity to work on various films
and shows. Most recently being "The House of Sand and Fog,
Junkyard Wars and Monster In Law. Also important to Nicole, is
her contribution to colorful places in facilities and hospitals
for special needs and critically ill children. Through organizations
like, Special
Children's Art Foundation, paint therapy is brought to these
children and their families. Recently, Ms Armitage and Marc Kolodziejczyk,
the founder of SCAF, designed and produced a 90-foot mural entitled
"The Wild Life" for the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
More than 80 volunteers worked together under their direction
to complete this project. Ms Armitage has owned her own company,
Armitage
Arts, for over 10 years. Her broad range of services includes
custom murals, faux finishes, interior color design, various wall
treatments, editorial illustration, color specification boards
and graphic design.
